Pakistan Humanitarian and development organization is a non-profit and independent organization. It is wholly dedicated to humanitarian services. Though PHDO was officially registered in 2003 as an NGO, it has an extensive record of public service since 2003. PHDO workers and volunteers continue to work tirelessly for providing relief to affected people throughout the district. Their dedicated services include Rescue & Relief, Rehabilitation and Development, Education, Healthcare, Community Services, and Care for Orphans.
PHDO works for improving the access of orphans, children with disabilities and ultra-poor children to public and private educational institutions. PHDO also provides facilitation to communities bridging the linkages with line departments for quality education and community based schools. In face of emergencies, PHDO arranges recreational activities and child friendly spaces in public and private institutions.

PHDO focuses on improving primary health care facilities for the marginalized communities. PHDO promotes culture of disease prevention amongst the marginalized communities in collaboration with the government and other institutions. PHDO works to improve WASH conditions in normal and emergency situations and arrange health camps for communities including person with disability and their families.

PHDO has set up a food bank and feeding program (Dasterkhan/Ramzan package) with the in-kind support of philanthropists. Food bank provides cooked and nutritious food in hospitals, schools and place of worships to deserving patients and their attendants, students and worshippers respectively. PHDO provides wheat grains to marginalized, food in-secured households includes households of orphans, widows, destitute families. In addition to this, PHDO provides fruit plants, kitchen gardening seed kits, toolkits and technical assistance in collaboration with agriculture extension department to the poorest of the poor household for improving the nutritional status. PHDO also promotes backyard poultry in rural areas improving the protein intake for healthy life.
PHDO believes in investment model to bring marginalized communities out of vicious cycle of poverty. On contrast charity model lowers the dignity of the people and it also perpetuates dependency of the people. PHDO facilitates low income groups and individuals in establishing of small enterprises/business through provision of training, business development planning and start up grants and interest free loans. PHODO links the skilled individuals with the micro finance institutions.
